We were approached by our client Smart Systems to look at a lighting design for a car park area of a large industrial unit, a design had been produced previously but this proved to be over the budget cost allowed for the project.

Through careful use of the Segin LED post top lantern, we developed a design that utilised the huge range of available light distribution patterns, finding a product that allowed us to reduce the total number of luminaires used whilst still meeting the technical requirements for illuminance levels and uniformity. The reduced quantity luminaires when combined with the reduced cost for installation meant that the budget was now met and our design was adopted.

Spurlite provided full details to allow the design to be submitted to the local authority for planning permission, the flat lantern which has zero upward light and very tight control of spill light ensured that light pollution in terms of sky glow and light encroachment beyond the site boundary complied with Environmental lighting zones E2. The design also provide all the necessary efficiency elements to meet the requirements of the Breeam requirements of the site.

The resultant finished installation provides a well and even lit environment to ensure safe vehicular movement around the site.
