It was during relocation and construction of their newest salon at 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour that Spurlite was asked to complete a design by Craig Walker of Walker Electrical, Portsmouth on behalf on his client, Hair OTT.

The clients brief specified an LED solution for their newest salon that was to be as energy efficient as possible whilst retaining lighting levels, which are crucial for the nature of their business. At the same time Hair OTT wanted to keep the look they had in previous salons that identified with their branding and business.

With this information in hand and giving due consideration to the fact that this was a new build, Spurlite completed a full design showing 3D visualisations to help the client get a fuller idea of what the finished layout would look like with the proposed lighting scheme.

The approved lighting solution used a combination of the Starburst Saber adjustable downlight around the seating areas to give accurate spot lighting and the DOT 92 downlight with a round flush glass around the reception area to give some differential.

The project was supplied as specified, on time and within budget. The client was extremely pleased and satisfied with the end result, so much so that a further order was placed and supplied for a second salon.
