      FRESHWATER, ISLE OF WIGHT

      About this project

Spurlite became involved in the Freshwater Project when we were approached in April 2014 to propose an LED lighting solution for this new store.

The architect had some early concepts which we worked with and incorporated into an LED design that was both functional and met the necessary aesthetic criteria.

Working with TDS Electrical, we developed these ideas. Two options were presented based around the architects original concepts. Both options were total LED solutions, but they also gave the client options around design and budget constraints.

Samples were tabled in the autumn of 2014 and finally approved. The chosen design was developed over a 6 month period and evolved during that time along with the clients budget.

The final scheme included our Freyn LED panel with an enhanced lumen package to cater for the height and the required lux levels, DOT downlights in both recessed and surface variants, Avior Motion adjustable LED mounted in bespoke Rafts, Tubus Cadan pendants and finally a pendant fitting which we created especially for this project to be a focal point in the entrance, mounted in between the rafts.

We also ensured that we designed each area/section with the customer in mind, using lux levels, colour rendering and colour temperature in such a way so as to maximise the shoppers experience and bring a different dimension and feel throughout the store.

Spurlite delivered all products to site during the first quarter of 2015. Once installed, we received excellent feedback as we had succeeded in really bringing the early concepts of the architects design to life and also completed on time and within budget.
