City Mazes is a UK based team, working with the aim of becoming a world leading escape game company. Players are are locked in a game complex, the clock is set to an hour, and they must work together in a team to solve puzzles and search for clues around the complex to ultimately work out a door code and escape within an hour.

Spurlite were provided with a blank canvas for this project, with a brief for modern futuristic lighting to the front of house area.

With this in mind our design incorporated the suspended circular pendant ALASTAR LED luminaires and wall mounted MIDNA direct/indirect fitting. The idea was to create a bright space to the main reception of the City Mazes Oxford, and be in tune with the open ceiling and exposed services.

The ALASTAR pendant was employed to provide the main lighting whilst the MIDNA introduced effect lighting to wash light up onto the ceiling and wash the walls.

DOT LED downlights were employed to light circulation spaces within and the TwinSpot LED emergency luminaire provided emergency escape lighting throughout the Mazes.

The owners report that several corporate customers have commented on the “Cool” lighting in the front of house area.
